Scene 1 · Saturday on the Mun River

Every Saturday, Lek and her friends walk along the Mun River in Ubon Ratchathani pick up plastic. First they put on gloves. they fill big bags with bottles and bags. Their teacher, Mr. Wichai, brings water and fruit for everyone, and the children always thank .

They do this work they love their river. Last Saturday they found old fishing net in the water. It was very heavy, six children pulled it out together.

Scene 2 · A Club That Grew

The River Keepers club started three years ago with only five members. , it now has more than forty. the river looks cleaner, the children know the problem has not gone away. Most of the plastic comes from towns upstream. words, other people’s rubbish ends up in Ubon.

Instead of about it, the club decided to act. They made a short video about the river and posted it online. , they wrote letters to schools in the towns upstream. Within a week, the video had been watched by 10,000 people.

A year later, Mr. Wichai wrote an opinion piece for the provincial newspaper.
