We build accessible learning, peace-oriented education, and public knowledge to help people understand themselves, their relationships, and the systems shaping their lives—and to act with greater wisdom, dignity, and responsibility.
A learning foundation grounded in human dignity
Education for Peace Foundation is an evolving public-learning initiative connecting language education, peace pedagogy, civic knowledge, research, and practical tools for human development.
We begin from a simple but demanding insight: education changes what people can perceive, imagine, choose, and become. It can enlarge freedom and deepen responsibility. It can also reproduce obedience, exclusion, prejudice, and unequal power when its hidden assumptions remain unexamined.
Our work therefore joins access with critical inquiry, knowledge with ethics, personal development with social responsibility, and learning with the effort to reduce avoidable suffering.
Our thinking has grown with experience
The foundation’s early emphasis centered on empowerment, access to English, and human-resource development. Those aims remain valuable, especially for learners excluded from opportunity. Experience and sustained inquiry have since led us toward a fuller educational vision.
Human beings need more than marketable skills. Learning should cultivate attention, self-regulation, intellectual independence, ethical discernment, understanding of causes and systems, the ability to live across difference, and the capacity to reduce suffering in oneself and society.
This evolution is not a rejection of the foundation’s beginnings. It is the maturation of the same hope: that people denied opportunity can gain the knowledge and agency needed to shape their own lives—and use that agency responsibly.

Awareness and self-governance
Attention, emotional regulation, freedom from automatic hatred, ethical judgment, intellectual humility, and responsibility for one’s actions.
Dignity and relationship
Listening, truthful and non-injurious language, boundaries, cooperation, accountability, dialogue, forgiveness, and repair.
Justice and institutions
Rights, democratic participation, fair access to knowledge, accountable power, nonviolent systems, and conditions that reduce structural suffering.
Principles that govern our work

No educational achievement justifies humiliation, dehumanization, or domination.
Access expands freedom
Knowledge and meaningful practice should reach people beyond centers of privilege.
Education is never neutral
Curriculum, language, hierarchy, and technology shape power and ways of seeing.
Evidence needs humanity
Accuracy and critical inquiry should be joined with fairness and human responsibility.
Agency needs ethics
Empowerment becomes constructive when freedom is joined with restraint and accountability.
Causes matter
We seek conditions, systems, and relationships beneath visible events and symptoms.
Learning remains unfinished
Ideas should be tested, revised, corrected, and deepened as evidence and understanding grow.
Sustainability serves access
Support models should keep valuable work alive while preserving pathways for those unable to pay.
From a rural village to a lifelong inquiry into education and peace
Education for Peace Foundation grew from the life and continuing work of Dr. Snea Thinsan, who began as a rural learner in Northern Thailand and later crossed educational, cultural, and political worlds in Thailand, Australia, the United States, Afghanistan, and beyond.
His experience includes teaching learners with limited opportunities, working with refugees and culturally diverse communities, serving as a Fulbright scholar, studying education and critical pedagogy, witnessing the human consequences of war, and participating in democracy and human-rights work.
These experiences did not produce a final doctrine. They produced a question that continues to guide the foundation: what kind of learning helps human beings become freer without becoming instruments of harm—and helps societies become more just without surrendering their humanity?
