Tenses in the Story · The Hornbill
Choose the verb form that fits each gap. All four choices use the same verb, so look for time clues such as yesterday, since, by then, already, at the moment, and next week, and notice the tenses of the verbs around the gap.
Hannah in Thailand three days before she met Dao. She was sixty-two and biology in Hamburg for thirty-five years before she retired. On the trail, she said, ‘I to Asia before. This is my first time.’
