Stationary / Stationery
Stationary (adjective): Not moving or changing.
Stationery (noun): Writing materials such as paper and envelopes.
Example: “The truck remained stationary during repairs.” / “She bought beautiful stationery for her letters.”
Complement / Compliment
Complement (noun/verb): Something that completes or goes well with something else.
Compliment (noun/verb): An expression of praise or admiration.
Example: “The wine complements the meal perfectly.” / “He received a compliment on his suit.”
Flammable / Inflammable
Flammable (adjective): Easily set on fire.
Inflammable (adjective): Also means easily set on fire.
Example: “Keep flammable materials away from heat.” / “The warning said the gas is highly inflammable.”
Device / Devise
Device (noun): A piece of equipment or a tool.
Devise (verb): To plan or invent something.
