Speaking Module 25: Making Appointments and Scheduling

This module helps learners arrange appointments, discuss availability, and confirm or reschedule plans in English.

1. Asking to Schedule an Appointment

“I’d like to schedule an appointment for [service].”

A polite way to request an appointment. Example: “I’d like to schedule an appointment for a dental check-up.”

“When is the next available time?”

Asks about open time slots. Example: “When is the next available time for a consultation?”

“Can I book an appointment for [day/time]?”

Requests a specific time. Example: “Can I book an appointment for Friday afternoon?”

2. Confirming or Rescheduling an Appointment

“I’m calling to confirm my appointment for [date/time].”

Used to verify an existing appointment. Example: “I’m calling to confirm my appointment for tomorrow morning.”

“I need to reschedule my appointment.”

A polite way to request a new time. Example: “I need to reschedule my appointment to a later date.”

“What times do you have available?”

Asks for alternate scheduling options. Example: “What times do you have available next week?”

“Can we move my appointment to [day/time]?”

Requests a specific reschedule. Example: “Can we move my appointment to next Monday at 10 AM?”

3. Discussing Availability

Shares your free times. Example: “I’m available on Saturday morning.”

Provides flexibility. Example: “I’m free anytime after lunch tomorrow.”

Asks if the proposed time suits the other person. Example: “Does Monday morning work for you?”

Used when you need time to confirm availability. Example: “Let me check my schedule and get back to you this afternoon.”
