Lesson 3: Discussing Hobbies and Interests

When talking about hobbies, you can use phrases that express enjoyment or frequency. Here are some phrases commonly used to describe hobbies:

  • I enjoy [activity]: e.g., “I enjoy painting.”
  • I love to [activity]: e.g., “I love to play guitar on weekends.”
  • In my free time, I like to [activity]: e.g., “In my free time, I like to cook.”
  • I’m interested in [activity/subject]: e.g., “I’m interested in photography.”
  • One of my hobbies is [activity]: e.g., “One of my hobbies is hiking.”

To ask others about their hobbies, try these questions:

  • What do you like to do in your free time?
  • Do you have any hobbies?
