(Present Simple vs. Present Continuous)
A: “What ___ you ___? You look so focused.”
B: “I’m working on my presentation for tomorrow.”
Answer: b) are / doing – Present Continuous is used for actions happening at the moment of speaking.
(Past Continuous vs. Past Perfect Continuous)
A: “I ___ for hours when I finally found the missing key.”
B: “That must have been frustrating!”
Answer: a) had been searching – Past Perfect Continuous is used for actions ongoing until a specific point in the past.
(Modals of Possibility)
A: “He ___ be at home. His car is parked outside.”
B: “Let’s ring the doorbell.”
Answer: b) must – ‘Must’ is used to express a strong logical conclusion or certainty.
(Reported Speech: WH-Questions)
A: “She asked me where I ___ the document.”
B: “Did you tell her the location?”
Answer: c) had found – Reported Speech requires shifting the tense back. ‘Had found’ indicates an action completed before the time of speaking.
(Conditionals: Second)
A: “If I ___ the answer, I would tell you.”
B: “Thanks, I appreciate it.”
Answer: b) knew – Second Conditional uses ‘if’ + past simple to express an unreal situation in the present or future.
(Gerunds as Objects)

Answer: b) watching – Gerunds are used as objects of verbs like ‘enjoy.’
(Comparative Adverbs)

Answer: b) more beautifully – Comparative adverbs compare how actions are performed.
(Modals of Necessity)

B: “Okay, I’ll do it now.”
Answer: a) must – ‘Must’ expresses a strong obligation or necessity.
(Reported Speech: Commands)

B: “That’s a good habit to have.”
Answer: b) to turn off – Reported commands use ‘to’ + base verb.
(Future Perfect Continuous)

B: “That’s an impressive milestone.”
Answer: a) will have been working – Future Perfect Continuous describes ongoing actions that will be completed by a specific time in the future.
