Frequently Confused Words Set 14

Ensure / Insure
Ensure (verb): To make certain or guarantee.
Insure (verb): To protect financially, usually through insurance.
Example: “We ensure that your package arrives on time.” / “They decided to insure their home against damage.”
Capital / Capitol
Capital (noun): A city serving as a seat of government; wealth or resources.
Capitol (noun): A building where legislative bodies meet.
Example: “The capital of France is Paris.” / “The Capitol in Washington, D.C., is a historic building.”
Patience / Patients
Patience (noun): The ability to remain calm while waiting.
Patients (noun): People receiving medical care.
Example: “She showed great patience while teaching.” / “The doctor treated several patients today.”
Principal / Principle
Principal (noun/adjective): The head of a school; the most important.
Principle (noun): A fundamental truth or belief.
Example: “The school principal announced the new policy.” / “She stood by her principles of honesty.”
Bazaar / Bizarre
Bazaar (noun): A market or fair where goods are sold.
